Chinese? I'd have thought more Iberian, maybe Persian, more Moorish or something like that. It's sometimes called a pilgrim flask/canteen I believe.

Oh Gila you are so cute:). If you're looking for search terms you might also try moon flask though often they are footed.

Perhaps 2fat2slow can tell us what they already know about their item.

i am afraid spanish pottery doesn't suit here, this is what i got - probably tang dynasty chinese piece. Yellow color, which is in background speaks for itself, who knows chinese pottery color's history - shouldn't be any questions here. Btw i do have 2 spanish tavera 19c plates :) i will post pictures a little bit later.

This is not that case - that some one looking forward to determine "what is it" - this is more likely as title of my thread - seeking for help advice on symbolism :)

    and something to think about;

As per post above - some information there.

As you asking, and as i am really met a lot of nice people around here, i will tell what i got, i got not that much if be honest, just very basic things.

Chinese piece, no doubts about that.
If refer to color's - more likely late song to tang dynasty
If refer to shape - it goes way more back than dynasty's mentioned above

Probably 3 chinese characters on a neck which almost worn of completely - but i believe with good equipment and with a little bit interpretation here - can be determined what kind of characters.

Regarding background yellow color - very often since the beginning Chinese pottery history - yellow was used as "imperial" color, i am not stating that it is imperial - i am referring to chinese history.

for sure - 4 phoenix heads there, on other side is "endless knot" symbol combined with something else..

Looks like flask been used for alcohol when traveling, because flask very small and round belly, so probably been kept in a pocket or some sort carrying bag when traveling.

I like to think that is was used by "female" - i don't know why, but i got that feeling that piece belonged to lady.

I do believe, when characters will be confirmed, will be more easier work on symbolism - as i do believe this is a key when unlocking this piece fully, that's why i am here :)

    Fact - one of it's kind :)

So guys, please, if you have anything to say regarding symbolism i would be very grateful!

Perhaps, since you are so sure this piece is Chinese, you might want to present it on the Asianart.com public forum, there are some very knowledgeable posters there. If you do post there, please be aware that they will expect, as is reasonable on any forum, images showing the entire piece as well as details, along with any pertinent information - and there will be delays in posting, just the way it works there - but patience is a virtue...

Thank you for your advice and directions!

Well you see, usually when it comes to forums, usually there is a lot of haters or other types of people, which like to mislead and give incorrect information or to do/speak other very weird stuff :) - that's a fact, so usually when it comes to forums, when i seek for some sort advice or help, i never show "all" piece, i just provide basic information :) This one here, really big exception (i hope i didn't killed activity here). Let's say, i create thread, give basic information - and you can "judge" members and answers from theirs replays - sometimes if i see that member has good knowledge, i contact via PM, so this is who i am and this is how i go :) I hate negative energy even trough internet :)

I am very pleased with this forum and with people which been escalating my thread lately - i think i will stick around for longer time here, as it is very difficult to find nice forums with genuine members and with genuine responds :) Maybe i will be able to help someone with something in future as well.

BTW - this is spanish pottery back from 19th century as i promised :)

You need to do exactly the opposite.

Ahhh, well, good luck in your search - and you're absolutely right in that people "do/speak other very weird stuff" in online forums...
