I don't know, from a marketing point of view I think a needle case will sell better than a cheroots holder :D

Pill holder. A Whatsit holder. Put your button batteries in it. Small sea glass collection. :D I do think there's a smoking collector community though, so they might surprise you. Just keyword it up I guess! :playful:

Small peices that early weren't hallmarked and I've seen dozens of needle cases and bought a lot and I'm pretty sure it isn't a needle case...
Unscrupulous sellers call peices like that and tooth pick holders needle cases because they sell better and they can ask more money...

Quite possibly, but that would be deliberately misrepresenting the item, which is something that honest sellers don't do. :)

Yes but believe me it happens, not all sellers are honest, I've been buying sewing stuff for a very long time and I've been told more porkies than I've had hot dinners, luckily I've built up knowledge so more often than not I know what I'm looking at...

I would certainly put what (I thought) it was in the title/description, but see no harm in suggesting other uses. The measurements would be there as well for anyone looking for a specific thing.

To be clear, as already said, this piece was produced in 1902. Suspect listing it as other than a cheroot holder would be a mistake, but certainly other uses could be suggested...

No worries, I will accurately describe it plus suggest alternate uses. I will be selling it at antique shows, not online :)
