HELP WITH MARKS ON SILVER? BOX

    I found this at a antique shop a few days ago. Can anyone tell me what the marking on the front means/says?
    It has:
    P A (with a . over it) 50 ARS-DAGON
    19 44/2 31

    It also has the initials C over H on top

    With the wood interior, was this a cigarette case?

    I appreciate any help.

    That "marking" on the front appears to be an inscription in Swedish, nothing related to silver marking. Something about a 50th anniversary and the numbers below are a date in 1931. Can't be 44 - more like 14? 2= February. 14th in Valentines Day, but I have no idea whether the Swedes celebrate that.
