Not my usual area, but these look interesting and are coming up at a local auction. 8.5" tall. Can anyone identify the mark, and what the proper name for these jars might be? TIA

Limoges, I think, but I don't know who the D belongs to.

D might be a date letter but I know very little about French porcelain.

It is a Sevres mark, hard to tell from the images, but the pattern looks like a modern repro to me. As @LauraGarnet02 says they are pot pourri jars or pastille burners.

Sevres mark with a letter indicates the date made - Not sure about that little dot though and they do look a bit "bright" to be Sevres but I am not an expert here.

The Met calls theirs a potpourri vase or a pot-pourri gondole.

Looking at more Vincennes and Sevres work (now that I know what to look for) I think they are probably repros, too.

    Thank you all.
