Hello, friends. I picked up this 12 1/2" plate yesterday. It is quite heavy. The base ring has holes to thread wire to hang it but I'd be afraid to do that, it's too heavy. The signature is incised into slip and the outlines are done the same way. The color is painted over it. Google lens said it is Italian or Mediterranean majolica, possibly from Salerno. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Linda Image Resizer-Photo Compressor_c5a3aa9d-d3c9-4b4b-bcb9-9ec5db05a324.jpeg Image Resizer-Photo Compressor_e7cda82e-0586-4c0d-9a8e-1a5d817779a9.jpeg

C'mon...trust the pottery folks to know their craft...those holes would probably support 40 pounds. String it UP!

It does say "Maroc" so identification as Moroccan correct.

That's what this non-pottie thought before ever seeing the back. North African anyway.
