    Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help identifying the specific family coat of arms on this 18ct gold signet ring (weight 16g).

    Key Details:

    • The Arms: Features a shield flanked by two lions rampant as supporters, topped with a royal-style coronet.

    • The Shield: Inside the shield, I can see four distinct diamonds (lozenges).

    • The Motto: There is a motto scroll at the base, but it is engraved in reverse (for wax seals).

    • Hallmarks: It bears UK hallmarks, though the imagery appears to have a strong Dutch influence (remniscent of the House of Orange-Nassau).

Since signet rings are mirrored, I’ve included the direct photo of the ring. I am trying to determine if the "four diamonds" identify a specific branch of a family or a particular noble house, especially given the Anglo-Dutch connection suggested by the UK hallmark.

Any insights into the family lineage or the meaning of the four lozenges would be greatly appreciated!

Could you press it in play-doh or something similar?
To me it looks like P.D. Semetos. Šemetos is a Lithuanian family name.

A Dutch crown, as like so many continental crowns, would probably have had eight arches, not four. This crown looks British to me.
It would be worth taking a wax impression of this to show it the right way round.
    Lovely ring BTW!

A legible motto will probably answer your question or narrow down the possibilities.

I have reversed the original image, if that helps at all.

Ooops, sorry Davey, I tried to reverse the image, and then couldn't find where the computer had saved it and in the meantime you have also done it. Sorry about that. Feel free to delete my post.

That appears to be an hour glass in the center.

Would/could you post a photograph of the hallmarks please? They would be helpful in determining age.
