(Sorry, it was just too easy! :shame:)

"The Underwood typewriters used various serial numbers to distinguish the various years and makes. The serial number should be located under the typewriter’s carriage.
    • 1900 – 100
    • 1901 – 1000
    • 1903 – 10000
    • 1904 – 50000
    • 1905 – 100000
    • 1906 – 150000
    • 1907 – 200000
    • 1909 – 1912 – 247500 and 450000
    • 1913 – 1917 – 551000 and 940000
    • 1918 – 1925 – 1050000 to 1910000
    • 1925 – 1931 – 2070000 to 3825000"

Sorry, I didn't see the earlier post by Bdigger about dating by serial number.

It is lovely komo, I agree, a very pretty design.
I'm getting confused, should he ask the typewriter out, or just date her if she has the correct serial number?

Youturn, I have an old Olivetti typewriter somewhere. Never dated an Italian, should I ask the Olivetti?:)

    Great! Glad you found it!

I have an old Underwood, older but in ...um... lesser condition. I love it though:) I've forgotten it's age but teens or twenties. It take a lot of finger strength to depress the keys all the way. Not that it's not working, it's more that I'm not working:D
