Collecting is okay as long as you can see the floor. If you can not see the floor you are a hoarder.

The problem there is that as your knowledge increases so does the "sickness" and the hobby gets much more expensive

 

But you can sell the things you bought earlier on, which will create funds for the more expensive treasures. Not always enough, I know.
