So hoping these earrings are jade, what do you think? Marked 14K, they are about 7/8" x 5/8" and weigh over 21 grams. I have no jade jewelry, so would be excited if these are the real thing. They are big and heavy. Any idea of where made and when? No maker's marks, only the 14K stamped on the stem and as shown in the pics. Sorry for so many pics, was trying to show them in different lighting. Thanks everyone.

Another vote for jade, and a post with that omega clip back spells quality.:) The best closure for post earrings imo.

Do you know anyone with a gem tester that can test them for you?

I AM Happy! LOL. So very Happy!:D Gathering these could be about $300-$500 on eBay? Does that sound correct? What a steal for a buck. Going to enjoy them at this point. Just enjoy looking at them. Tried one on, wow, so big and luxurious-looking!

I DO have a gem tester, that is the el cheapo Diamond Selector II. Can it be used on these? How many bars should I set it to in your experience?

I don't know if a diamond tester will give you results on other stones. I have a Presidium that tests for everything from glass through diamonds, but I don't know what yours is like. Can you check your manual to see what it says?

No real instructions with this tester. It appears it is only for diamonds.

Is there a chance they are "Imperial" jade, or would they more likely be something else?

    Lovely pieces, well found.

No, this tester won't help here.

They are regular jade, they could be jadeite or nephrite, both forms can look like this. Imperial jade is quite different and looks like this....

... it is very translucent, and worth huge sums!

Just what I was thinking. The omega clip back spells quality. Nice find!
