WOW,your hoard is finding a new home? All of it? Hopefully you will still have goodies in the shed to pull out and share here :) The auctions do sound very exciting though :) Less stuff to dust;)

"Silly" hernias...... Are those anything like a 'silly walk'?
Is there a long legged minister for those as well? ;)

I lost all interest in picking, now I look at all the containers and junk everywhere and I want to run away.Maybe this Fall or Winter I will catch the bug again.
First off I still need to sort, store, toss, donate then paint my whole house and put down new floors. I am sick of carpeting,I want wood floors and throw rugs. I guess old age finally caught up with me.I dont want to dust my life away or live in my hoard.:cat:

I see that about your bro. :(
I just saw something on blue potatoes disrupting cancer cells. Do you know about those? Not sure if elsewhere as well but they come from Oregon. Good too! :)
You might want to look into this.

I can help you solve the house painting problem. ;)
Find a hooker....ask her her prices.... If she states something like; 'I'll do anything for $250.' There you go! ;)

I am in Calif. so I will look to see if the blue spuds are here. He is on an almost liguid diet & strained foods,he is a steak & potatoes man usually so he is not a happy camper....as I sit here smoking on a ciggie and wanting some java ;)

Shiloh, if he gets nauseous with the chemo, ginger of almost any kind will help. Ginger tea, for example.

...and that he likes ginger. Candied ginger may work too, and it's easier to store, transport, and eat than the fresh stuff. Not that it ever stopped me....

Everly,my pharmacist buys me chinese red ginger since my brother and I love it so much.My pharmacist is Chinese and lives in an area where he can get it at the Asian markets.
Since he can't chew he can suck on it ;) Thank you Bear I will ship him some ginger tea ;) He is 300+ miles from me so I really can't be there for him :arghh:

Those 17th and 18th C books I posted about a few weeks ago are up for sale tomorrow at

    http://www.dominicwinter.co.uk/

and if anyone is interested they are lots 294, 342, 348, 378, 628 and 697, all with no reserves, since I like to let stuff take its chances.

I will look in to see what happens through the-saleroom.com

    http://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/a...winter-book-auctions/catalogue-id-srdom10048#

I'll not tempt fate by saying what I hope for, but with luck it will cover the costs and expenses of the whole hoard.

If it does not, there is always the rest of the stuff.

Some of the low value items I have consigned to a local village hall type auction and that happens on Monday next, which I think is the 21st. No internet for that of course. It is the lowest level of auction, but sometimes a few decent items in a load of junk will do a lot better because they get bids that they'd not get in a sale among too many much better items.

More waiting after the sales, of course, but at last we are near to getting some return for the money and effort.

I am composing a shopping list which has started with a decent 19th C marine chronometer, and I may buy a good quality model heat engine.

Well, the last of the books just sold for a well over estimate total of £2480, about $3500, so that's all the expenses well covered and some left over for shopping!
