I have items on etsy that have been listed for so long, it makes me think what am I doing wrong. I can not figure out why they have not sold and frankly am sick of looking at them. LOL:zombie::woot:

On the other hand, it is so cheap to list there that renewing is worth it.
20 cents for 4 months is a bargain.
And of late, some items that I have had for years listed there, have finally sold.:p:p
Why they took so long to sell is a mystery but I keep that in mind when it comes to renewing other items that are old as mold.
I just keep plugging along, especially at this time of year as we get to the holidays.

Ah, further enlightenment. I have only listed straight auction, no BIN, no best offer. I always feel it is foolish to set a fixed price on items, such as better antique cameos, that are not common enough to be able to determine a reasonable price from others' earlier sales results.

I can not say from personal experience, but I have heard it said some buyers don't want to wait around for the auctions to end, they prefer BINs. I do both, usually lesser stuff like mixed lots at auction, better items at BIN with Best Offer. Who knows, what works for one seller does nothing for the next!

So true. Someone I know who sells some very pricey cameos on eBay has found that sometimes when an item is not attracting bids after being listed 2 or 3 times, raising the opening bid spurs activity.

To quote Reese Palley, “When an item doesn’t sell, raise the price!”
