Over 15 years ago, I bought a coffee jar full of coins at a car boot sale for £12

Lots of 18th-17th century Dutch silver and these two US coins, my most valuable US to date.

For silver dollars, in circulated condition, which yours appear to be, the value for most is their silver melt value plus a small premium. The exception would be a few rare year/mint mark. There were many millions of Morgan dollars minted, and LOTS of them never entered circulation. So, there's a lot of uncirculated coins available to collectors, and that makes circulated specimens nothing special.

Last year I kept the better silver coins I had and sold off the rest.

That 1795 Washington is stunning ! Extraordinary eagle like the ones you seen on very early 19th Cent & War of 1812 U.S. Beltplates.

I wonder if the third penny down on Marco's Site would be considered 'Uncirculated' ?

I forgot I had these, tucked away in a cabinet.

5 Morgans, each having the Mint Mark of one of the 5 US Mints
Philly, San Francisco, Denver, New Orleans and Carson City

They are not slabbed or graded, they are just in protective holders that open.

According to the NGC Price Guide, as of March 2025, a Morgan Dollar from 1878 CC in circulated condition is worth between $140 and $435.

George Morgan may be considered the father of Morgan Silver Dollar since it was his design. Dr. Henry R. Linderman, Director of the Mint at the time might be considered the godfather. He arranged the design contest between the longtime designer Barber, and English newcomer Morgan that Linderman had brought in. Many think Linderman always planed for Morgan to win. Here is a U.S. Mint medal and a piece of ephemera for Linderman.

Sometimes I have difficulty understanding coin prices. The 1878 CC in MS-50 averages around $270 on PCGS. It has an estimated survival population of 295,000 (all grades). The 1889-S in MS-50 averages around $90. It has an estimated survival population of 70,000. There were 2,212,000 1878-CC minted. There were 700,000 1889-S minted. How does that make sense?
