Then you know more than the Chinese archaeologists and historians who have worked on and studied the originals.

o no defently not. but i still wonder how the heck the chinese made such quantities and such large pieces. And i am talking about shipcontainers full of the nephrite jade carvings.

if you have an example of a statue with that kind relief carving would love to see it. Like to learn as much as possible from it.

Jade carving is a huge industry in China because it generates income, especially foreign currency income.
And don't forget, there are 1.4 billion Chinese. Granted, not all of them are jade carvers, but there are a lot of carving workshops and factories.

yes indeed, would love to see a youtube video of them carving that. And do you agree it is harder to realy carve them like my statues than to acid etch the paterns in a acid bath.

Most recent Chinese jades are laser carved. It is a skill you have to learn, but once learnt it works really fast and is fairly easy.
Personally I would rather use a laser than an acid bath.

yes i read on a forum that you should also avoid touching the acid treated ones because of the chemicals used the make them. see my last post, it does not realy look laser cut, but it could be of course. anyway very cool statues. o yes o forgot to say the my carvings have scratch and cutting marks on them, but can´t photograph it well my phone doesn´t handle closeup pictures well.

This article was written nearly 25 yrs ago, when fake Archaic jades were already becoming a problem in the antiques trade:

    https://www.theartnewspaper.com/2001/11/01/fakes-of-archaic-chinese-jades-are-flooding-the-market

It mentions some of the things to look out for. In the meantime the fakers have added more tricks to their repertoire.

The best thing is not to buy Archaic jades. There are very few genuine pieces outside Chinese museums and very few people can tell real from fake.
But do buy a pretty jade that appeals to you, if it is on offer for a nice price. But don't assume it is antique.

I am lost. I don't know how to post. I joined because I want to give away a Tonk Chicago New York cast iron base for a Tonk adjustable piano chair/seat. I have only this part I found at my metal person I trade things with. It is in original condition and ready to remount below a seat of another antique chair that may have a broken one. I feel inept because I ca never find a "post new" icon on this or a motorcycle forum either. Thank you for advice. I am not sure how I even got to reply to something here of your posts.
