Featured How old is this embroidery painting. 1700s 0r 1800s

Have this silk painting which is partly embroidery and partly painted. Can somebody recognise at the clothing or style whoch period it could date.

Found similair which they call English folk art. Can I assume this is also folk art. Doesn't look like its copied from a painting.

Any info output is welcome.

 

I would put your embroidery at early 1800's.

 

This was copied from a master print of some sort. It was a common "thing to do" at the time. Young unmarried women especially made things like this, to decorate their homes when the time came.

 

Poor things. Their brothers were out riding horses.

hahaha, I always think girls were expected to lead the most boring lives!
Dont get me wrong, I love painting, beading, and crafting in general..
But given the choice Id be out riding, hunting, gardening etc.

 

If it is copied from a painting or print then it cannot be reliably dated from the clothing she is wearing.

 

I've seen quite a lot of these here at fairs and they are always stated to be early 1800's.

 

Costume is Georgian era. No crook so assume meant to be country maid, not shepherdess.
