How to clean this metal lamp?

This is not old, but I do love it dearly. We live near an ocean, some closer than others, and humidity here gets to be awful. We really have to be up watching out for molds, too. It was a church sale item.

This metal fairy lamp appears to have verdigris on it. I do soak and or scrub jewelry with vinegar (not ketchup, discolors metal too much) to remove it, and most of the times the metal underneath is not right.

What would you do to try to remove the green on this? There is also a scratch on the back, would you just leave it? Thanks.

I like the verdigris. If it's bronze, cleaning it may destroy whatever patination they applied.

I think the overall verdigris is nice, I was wondering about the concentrated heavy green spotting.
