I found these 2 paintings at a thrift store last week. The small one is a pallet style painting but only 5" x 5.25" ! The name is undesignable in the center - I think it may be Gay or Guy?

The 2nd one is a little bigger & on wood - can anyone tell me the artist's name? If by an unknown, would it be better to just sell the frame? (it is beautiful, right? The photo of the back didn't come through but it's wood w/no Hecho en Mexico or anything else - I will take another photo & see if computer will keep this one) - the frame measures 14" x 12" x 3" (thick) and the painting itself is 6.5" x 4.5"

Thanks for any help with these!

The first one does look like art. The second one is a Chinese decorative painting.

The second one looks like "C. Franco" but, as Debora has indicated above, it's not art. The frame is worth something but as it only holds a small painting, the value is in the eye of the beholder. I'm not sure the front is wood, even if the back is. Looks more like molded resin.

Agree. Doubtful the frame is carved wood.

The signature on the Chinese factory painting looks like Cyrano.;)
Not really important though, and I'm sure you'll be able to sell it.
    Ditto.

Cyrano. "I never loved but one man in my life, and I have lost him twice."
