ID help please Swan neck handle jug

Hi,
Please can anyone help ID this jug? I've seen a very similar shape one marked Beswick but also one on Google unmarked described as Longton. I can't find another one with this relief decoration to compare. This is unmarked. Dating help would be great as well please. Thankyou

It's very odd: the Holy Family on one side; St. Peter being reminded that Jesus said Peter would deny him 3 times before the cock crowed on the other.

 

Thankyou Bronwen, I was racking my brains to think of the bible story it related to. I thought it was biblical but didn't want to say that and expose my ignorance!

 

But it also has the book and the keys, allusions to his continuation of what Jesus started. So it is the beginning of Christianity, with the Holy Family, and the continuation after Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension.

Peter is also indicated by the key in front of him. Guess depicting him at his less than glorious moment [AJ just added her note] was an exhortation to the user not to do the same.

 

I've just had a closer look to see if mine is marked like that on the base. There is a mark but it's off on the edge and could just be a fault in the glaze or where it touched something before dry.
Thankyou for finding a similar one though as I'd failed!. I think I should have studied RE more closely as it's fascinating what it symbolises.

 

Could you get a picture of the mark, or what might be a mark? And those who know about pottery often want to see the entire base, even if unmarked. I'm not one of those people, as I don't know much at all about such things.

Well it's either a bodged mark or a flaw in the glaze. Hard to tell. Some possible similarities?
