Yes, it looks French to me too. The chimera mark, upside down on the right, dates it between 1838-1893. I believe the girl is the town mark.
I'll check the other marks later.

Oops, I lost my French maker's mark list after a computer crash, maybe @kyratango can find the maker.

If I'm reading that right, this was made in Paris of .950 fineness silver in 1793. If that's right, this piece has to be rare. I can't imagine a pile of silver being made in that era. And it it was, odds of finding out whodunnit can't be good.

during the revolution time the rules and regulations changed rather fast. I can't find the explanation right now anymore, but the girl's head was used by the jewelers up to 50 years later (this is doubtful in itself !) for marking a re-tested item because there were probably too many fakes around. and by Paris jewelers to keep up appearance internationally !

Agree, and to confuse matters, the girl's head was also used by guilds/associations in other towns.
The letter next to her indicates the town, which is why this is also called a town mark. P is for Paris, but Studio's mark doesn't seem to have a P, so not Paris. A U maybe?
