After the bath, it may be dull, a little rub with a slightly oiled cloth will make it happy and shiny:)

Sorry for the radio silence. Had a long day at work then getting tea for the kids!
Here are some more photos. Let me know if they still aren’t good enough and I’ll gave another go. I’ve given them a wash but probably need another go. As you said they have a slightly astonished look now they are cleaner. I know you said oil - what type or would beeswax polish do ok?
    :)

Fantastic pics of your nice coral! :)
For oil, ahem... I rub my mated coral on my face T zone:joyful:
Otherwise, any oil will make the work, nourishing the coral, just a drop on a rag and rub, no beewax, full of chemicals if bought for furniture and not from your beehives:joyful:

So that is something else we can send neglected jewellery to you for.:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
Kyra, I am still laughing, thank you for that.

Beeswax is too thick. You don't really need much oil, kyra's T-zone will do.:D
I usually put some drops of pure rice bran oil on my fingertips and rub it in. I use rice oil for just about everything because it is very thin and doesn't smell.
Apparently olive oil is good too, but that smells and is not as thin.

Just to make sure I know what I’m looking at- is this the modern dyed stuff?. Is it even coral?

Yep, dyed stuff:joyful: Not an ounce of coral in this, the teardrops look like made of tagua nut slices, for the beads, not sure...
    Pretty necklace for summer, anyway:)

Oily skin has to be good for something! (LOL) I found a wooden dove pin that was sold without a finish on it once. Thanks to greasy skin it now has one. It's most likely not going anywhere. But if you think about it, that's how you're supposed to keep pearls in good shape - wear them.
