Are side and back panels raised or flat?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

From what I can tell online, Thwaites is (or was) a company based in Australia. That company was George Thwaites ("and Sons" is sometimes added).

Here is a roll top with raised panel construction.....

    This one has flat panel.....

The flat panel ones usually utilize a veneered panel and are newer.

Thanks @verybrad. Your comment put me in mind of a fall-front desk I’ve talked about before here on the site. It’s side panels are completely flat, not out or in like typical Victorian side panels. I’m guessing a date of ca 1860
