Just looking for some info on these pocket watches and if they have any value. One is an Illinois central pocket watch and the other is an arnett. Both belonged to my grandfather who worked for the railroad. The arnett was a retirement gift and and Illinois central was used while he worked. Best regards

The first probably has more value as a railroad collectible than it does as a watch.

I'd say the Arnett watch is from the 1960s and of quite modest value, it is just too modern for watch collectors. The 1930s Illinois value depends on if it was a RR grade watch or just an ordinary working man's watch.

To qualify for RR timekeeping, watches had to satisfiy strict criteria for accuracy and construction. A picture of the movement would reveal all. Usually RR watches were lever set, as stem set watches could be accidentally moved forward or back while winding.
