Imari style plates of English origin. Any idea of the maker? There's an impressed "5" on one of them

Hello Janet: what is the relationship between Coalport and Spode is that a style? The estate where this plate was from also had a pair by Coalport.

There isn't, that seller in the link just spammed the title with three English manufacturers of the period who produced this style of item, (Spode, Coalport and Worcester (Flight Barr))

The blank is the shape, used for many patterns. Sometimes there are separate marks, one for the maker of the blank, and one for the decorator, which can be the same company, or not. A decorating company can purchase blanks from anyone who sells blanks and sometimes cover up the mark with their own. Then, the maker of the blank is not important--it's all about the decorator. In this case, there are no marks on the shell dishes, but the blank is a distinctive Spode blank. I don't think they sold their blanks to decorators.
