Featured imo one of the nicest things I have bought but!

Hi all picked this up today and I think it's wonderful but it's missing a finger damn! haven't researched mark yet but does anyone have any ideas of age I think japanese 300mm high chris

 

She is beautiful, Chris.
Her clothing and hairstyle are Chinese, so Chinese-made could also be an option.
Just noticed, she is even wearing a jade bangle.

 

was 20 dollars but because of finger dropped it to 15 I was happy to pay 20

Beautiful. I believe this is called Shiwan porcelain, made in China. These have been made for the export market in the last few years, in fact they are probably still being made, although most U.S. distributors seem to have stopped carrying them, or at least scaled way back.

Brand new most of these go for around $50 U.S. The level of detail and craftsmanship is amazing, well worth the money and including far more "extras" than higher profile brands such as Lladro. Even with a missing finger, you got a great deal for $15.00!

 

awesome thanks ghopper found a couple of sites that sell these and your info is spot on nice to see that some companies do produce quality stuff from China and take pride in it might have to look for a japanese geisha for myself thanks again chris

 

Remember, geisha kimonos have the low plunging neckline at the back, the normal kimono is for non-geisha Japanese women.
I think this Chinese girl is far more special, but that's just me.
