Featured Indian Diety? Wooden, rough condition. Age?

Any thoughts on this piece? I figured I'd find a million on google image but actually haven't found similar. Obvious condition issues, but curious how hold this might be. Anyone know whether this figure has a specific name? Thanks for taking a look.

 

Here is a very similar figure in the Horniman Museum (although I think theirs is missing an arm), described as from India, depicting the god Vishnu -

Thank you for finding that! The description reads: "Wooden figure of God Vishnu as one of his ten avatars (incarnations), Ramachandra." But don't mention an age.

I wonder how old this might be. Obviously it's in rough shape, but it seems to have some age.

An attractive figure from the south of India. Age is difficult, these are still made. My guess is 1930s-40s, but that is just a guess.

Ramachandra is one of the facets of Rama and the same as prince Rama from the Hindu epic Ramayana. (Hindu mythology and iconography is complicated.)
So Vishnu > Rama > Ramachandra, aka prince Rama.
He is a favourite in the Hindu world, together with his lovely wife Sita.

I do collect Indian antiques but purposely don't collect anything painted because it's too easy to fake/age. Saying that I can rule out Mysore, the detail just isn't there. It isn't something I've come across in my collecting field.
