Does anyone know if this piece is Japanese or Chinese, or what the purpose of this kind of dish is/what it might be called? Any info is greatly appreciated!

Measures approx 2 1/2” tall with an 8” diameter.

    I think it is Japanese.
    1970s or after.

As to it's purpose, Ikebana bowl maybe.

If the top is flat, it could be a teapot warmer.

mark says Ying Shan made. The painted pattern and the mark both clearly tell it is Japanese. Not antique. very Limited value
