Inkwell - Right Cap?

Thanks for tracking this down. But I think Cheryl found the right one.

 

Yes. I'm amazed these had metal lids. The shape of the inkwell is right. Thank you.

 

It's a fairly common inkwell shape, I know I've had a couple that were missing their lids...

So they created the elk thing and placed a standard inkwell inside?

 

Personally, would suspect the decorative stag pen rest was made to hold that particular stock inkwell, the lid likely a stock item as well...

Very interesting. I think you got the era spot on though. At least the use of aluminum with a floral design for the cap seems to be the same.
