Hello Everyone - I've acquired this small ashtray (box lot again) and saved it from the charity box because it reminded me of Dorothy Thorpe. I don't see any mark on it though. It measures 4 1/8" long x 2 1/8" wide and 1" tall. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Oh, too bad if there were ever ashes in that. It's very pretty.

Thank you, UncleChuckTX, I did not see that. It does look similar.

I didn't know DT did stuff like this. Another learning moment. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I did see that one. The similar shape of that ashtray encouraged me to post here (although it is larger). As far as I can tell that one is not signed either.

Dorothy Thorpe was sand blasted with definite deeper ridges.
Fostoria and Frank Oda are more evenly etched, no deep ridges.

This is Fostoria's morning glory - Does it match?

    Also check Frank Oda.

I had been looking at Frank Oda too. Mostly Hawaiian flowers.

Arts Hawaii is now in Co if memory is right. His son was/is continuing the business. I think of both Thorp and Oda as doing sand carving(blasting) for their designs.

Thank you for so many good suggestions! I have looked at Fostoria but am having trouble finding an ashtray in this shape. The glass also seems a lot thicker than what I am seeing as Fostoria. The ridge lines of the morning glory seems fairly well defined, especially in the stems and leaves. It does feel more of a sand carving than a usual etch. I'm having trouble finding much Arts Hawaii and Oda (new companies for me) to compare. I'll need to spend some more time researching that avenue.

I'll throw in that these were also made in Bohemia/Czechoslovakia.
