Interesting 19” edged weapon, gold inlay

    The hilt is not quite the same, but it looks like it might be related to the kindjal / qama of the Caucasus region.

    Thanks, yes, google “kindjal” images and hundreds of them pigstickers come up, many with similar blade shapes and fluting. I s’pose the handle is an old replacement or whatever.

    It has a Mideastern look to me. Might be related to an Egyptian type called a glaive.

    Probably Armenian, look near bottom of this article, some also have gold-inlaid primitive-looking animals. Yes handle on the one I posted is different, blade may have gone to a nearby country with broken handle, and was replaced with type handle used in that country.

    The animal looks like a Persian leopard,the photo of the gold isn't clear but it looks like Koftgari inlay.
