The legs are only 15" apart on the sides - not wide enough to allow chairs to be placed under the table. Open, it is 55" long by 39" wide.</p><p><br /></p><p>I love the piece. I am curious about the date. It doesn't seem to fit the "norm" of Empire... typical "elephant trunk" features. I've done some extensive research and there seem to be VERY FEW Empire pieces with the angular legs.
