Interesting little painting- Abstract?

The frame is what really got my attention. Also it seems to spell the word “Iris’ (maybe that’s just a coincidence) Signed MJ or JM and a date “6” (not sure) If I had to guess I would think the frame looks 50’s-60’s to me (but what do I know) The painting itself is 25cm x11cm. Any comments appreciated. Also is this abstract art? Thank you and keep well

    Agree re frame. Mid-century. The work itself doesn't appear to be that of a professional artist.

    It's grown on me from the first time I looked at it

    Better If I see it as having 2 central figures with them both kneeling and one putting their arm on the back of the other

    The framing would have gotten me interested as well

    Think it's a good buy

    Thanks for the reply. It’s a funny little painting,the frame and the painting is a bit of a off-beat match but makes it cool in it’s own way.
