Featured Interesting Orange/black/white Glass Bowl

This lovely bowl has an unusual base. It is very convex. That and little nicks around the rim have me wondering if it has a particular use or if it is recognisable as by a particular maker.
The base was full of wax (still some of it on it) but I don’t know if that is really it’s purpose. It seems too nice to abuse like that!
Approx 12cm across and 8.5cm tall.
Any ideas please?

Is there any sort of pontil in there? If not, the neck could be the base! The notches might be so a candle (tealight) could breath, and the wax found in the 'base' might have been for warming by that wee flame...to be used in some spa-treatment, perhaps?

Could well be. It just seems criminal to use it for that as it’s so lovely!
No pontil that I can see.

 

Id say vase,and a very pretty one at that. Czech perhaps.

The bottom colour part is electric on yours !!

That's it, I was trying to remember the maker. They're Empoli anyhow.
