IMHO that price is extremely high. But, it could be that people are willing to pay it, especially if they are on their 4th or 5th POS clock from Amazon. Personally, I have a Seiko alarm clock that I purchased for $25 in 1977 (which at the time I thought a lot) and I still have it and it still works perfectly after almost 50 years. The gold isn't even worn off. I'm leaving it to my son in the will.

One memory that's attached to it is from the Blizzard of '78. I heard something outside in the wee hours, got up and looked out the window, turned around and shut off the alarm on my Seiko clock and went back to bed. We wouldn't be going to work that day.

I have more clocks than I care to know:confused:

I inherited a few from my Dad and one was my Grandfathers, I got some from house clearances.

When my Dad died, I gave away to other family members 4 long case and 2 Cuckoo clocks, I would not have been able to bear the ticking, clicking, chiming and cuckcooing:eek:

Here's some of mine, there are few Seiko among them too.
    Also some radio-controlled clocks.

    Very nice Davey.
My parents had a clock that chimed on the hour and it drove me nuts.

I have the other clock from my grandparents, the one I mentioned somehow flew down from the entertainment center top over a ledge and landed on the carpet.

I also had a clock radio of course, who didn't back in the day?

I have 4 clocks but only 1 works right now, it's a kitchen clock. We don't notice the ticking or chimes unless they aren't there - when I occasionally forget to wind it :D

I need to get the other 3 serviced but it's getting harder and harder to find someone who can do the repairs!

Looks like a nice quality clock with it's enamel dial & that winding key says antique Europe ? As to loudness . . . as we age, the volume will become just right do to our diminished hearing . . . ah, father time!!

Nice. Everything about that clock says quality from the movement to the case... much like the good French clocks, the fitting, fineness of the metal work in the cases. . . production of these was a true craft.
