Is this a Armen Gevorkian painting?? How to remove dent in canvas?

I found this beauty at a local thrift store today- and not the one I always go to early, but a 2nd one I usually stop at on my way home.
I saw in a fenced pen like area where they keep their paintings & the look drew me immediately!

Googling the name on the back (before I saw it was signed on the front) Armen, G I came up with Armen Gevorkian - is that who I have?
Also there is a dent (thank goodness it didn't tear) in the canvas - how can I fix that?
Thanks as always for your help!

Doesn't look anything like the work of Armen Gevorkian. You might look to Greece and recent, given it says "Athens July 2003" on the back.

I also got some other art, sculptures that had mexico (terracotta tree of life) & other names that made me think it was where they were bought but not nessarily made there?
    Any thoughts on removing dent?)

I'd think souvenir pieces collected by a traveler more likely. And sorry, I know nothing about repairing canvas. Marote has, I believe, correctly identified your painter. You can always ask the Royal Gallery in Athens for confirmation.

I was thinking of that because it was so hard & dry on back! Thank you!
