I saw this online and was contemplating buying it but it looks so weird to me and I don't any have idea as to what it is. The seller says theyre diamonds and an unknown metal... Is it Georgian era or more modern? Can anyone help me out with it?

I'm def no expert, this is just the first thing that popped-up.
'Polki diamonds don't have much resale value. If they are set into jewelry they can be difficult to remove–they can possibly break or damage easily. If anything, they will have sentimental value and can be passed down within families.' Jun 30, 2023

All of these links are for for rose cut stones, the OP's diamonds are uncut rough diamonds.

These aren't Polkis, imo. True Polki diamonds are rounded, they are not cut, but they are polished.

I think they could be uncut Martapura or Borneo diamonds, from Kalimantan in Indonesia.
The navette ring shape was popular in the 18th century, but in this case it is 19th century, imo. The shape was also popular in the 19th and 20th centuries.

The pavé-like setting is reminiscent of the Indian Kundan (kundankari) style, which could lead to confusion as to the origin. But the technique has been used throughout South and Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, for centuries.

Your average jeweller doesn't know the difference between polki diamonds and other traditional S and SE Asian diamonds.
Besides, spart doesn't have it yet.

Sparta-If it's your 'price-point' and you like it,knock yourself out.A lot of our favorite things were free or quite cheap.

The bottom line is if you like it and are going to wear it, who cares what the rocks are?

Thanks to all who helped out! The price is quite high on this piece which is why I was seeking info!! I think I may pass on it unless the seller offers it at a lower price later on!

This is helpful. I have an old box from Nepal or Tibet. Some of the clear stones and some of the purplish ones tested as diamonds on the low end of the spectrum of my diamond tester. I wondered if I was getting a bad reading. They are raw/unfaceted. Maybe one of these varieties.

Purplish diamonds are more likely to be Indian than Indonesian. Indian Golconda diamonds come in a wide range of colours, I even have some that are bottle green.

Great to know. The positive test caused me to question the accuracy of the tester and/or the accuracy of my direction following.
