Is this hammered metal wall hanging Arts and Crafts?Art Nouveau? mid century?!

    Hi all, it's been a while since I posted! I'm hoping you can help me with a little information about this oval wall hanging. I think it is older rather than a repro but please correct me if I'm wrong. I think it is brass, a rather forlorn looking pooch with a collar and chain. Do you think it is artisan made or more like folk art? It measures 12"L x 7"W, nailed to wood. Thanks as always!

    that's an awful lot of nails used to secure that to the backing....

    I like the way the dawg is chained to the fame......

    it looks original , and some time was taken on the stippling......
    but you'd think the artist would sign it ???

    Certainly older, maybe 30s or so. Not folk art. Possibly hobbyist but well done so maybe from small craft shop.

    I agree 1930s or so, not Arts & Crafts nor Art Nouveau.

    Ah yes, I hadn't noticed it was chained to the frame! I had thought a signature would have been added too, even if a hobbiest one.
