The types of items provided to those in need were generally clothing, food and coal. The official name was <i>Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes</i> (Winter Relief of the German People) and was run by the <i>Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt</i> or NSV (National Socialist People’s Welfare Organisation).</b></font></p><p><font size="5"><br /></font></p><p><font size="5"><b> </b></font></p><p><font size="5"><b>Each year different badges were issued and sold to the public to raise funds.
