Hello everyone! Won this lovely ring at auction, I did pay up a bit for it. It was listed as 10K but is actually 18K which was a nice surprise. I knew that it looked older but when I looked up the marks it says hallmarked in 1814 - is it really that old?) The marks are crown 18 anchor q). I had thought Edwardian perhaps. The maker's mark is HW Ld which I can't find anywhere, any ideas? Also, the sapphire in the middle appears to have a crack and a little chip out of the other, does that detract from the value a lot? All info appreciated! Apologies, the pics aren't great, hard to photograph rings. Ah yes of course. I took another look and the 'q' date letter was very close to the 1814 but not accurate for this ring. It appears it is 1915 and the maker was Henry Williamson Ltd. Thanks for helping me solve the mystery.

It definitely looks more Arts and Crafts era than Regency. The design of the setting is all wrong.

Georgian stone settings have closed backs, not open.:)
Pretty ring though, nice blue on the sapphires.
    Wonderful.:)

It's absolutely typical in style of late 19th into early 20th rings here too. I've a couple very similar, inherited from a dear friend.

    Georgian rings aren't often hallmarked.
