Picked this up today. Am I right in thinking that the brooch construction would fit in with this being Queen Mary as in George V?
Sweet little brooch with some damage I may be able to carefully hide.

Wrong era. Appears to be a woman in Georgian era clothing with a hedgehog hair style. (Here's Keira Knightly in something similar as the Duchess of Devonshire.) Queen Mary lived well into the 20th century. (1867-1953) And typically queens are depicted with crowns. Here's Queen Mary in her youth.

What date is this brooch likely from then?. Maybe just a fantasy person then?.

That brooch looks as though it was made from a much earlier piece of transfer decorated porcelain. Basically, old shardware.

I didn’t think of that. Could be. What date do you think the brooch itself is from?

If it's British, and since it's just marked Silver it might not be, I'd say about 1900, but bar pins were a big thing right up until WWI and some Scandinavian countries are still using tube hinges on traditional jewelry. The pottery itself could be a lot earlier.

The era depicted in the image is not the same as the date of the pin.

That's what I mean: the porcelain is way older than the bar. Bar is 1900 ish, the plaque is 18th. Said porcelain may well not be British, either. The image is transfer, but the border is hand painted.

Here's Mary waiting to sign a visitor book behind the king.

I have the photos, the book and the signatures.
