I bought this lovely fellow yesterday, despite all his flaws & dings he spoke to me LOUDLY ( saying **BUY ME I KNOW YOU HAVE ROOM FOR ME TAKE ME HOMEEEEE**) ( ofc I have no power to resist)
He was a pound and I really love him.

    He sits sort of sideways.
I wasn't going to post these pics here, was just to show my FB friends but thought I'd show my friends here too.
(So the pics are even more below par than norm.
Can take more if required xx)

    He really,really speaks to me.
I did a google image search and I saw some similar described as Shona sculpture from Zimbabwe.
I don't trust my own judgement though.
    He is H E A V Y.

    About 11 inches down ( 29 cms).
The base is teeny, as he sits sort of skew-whiff, it's two inches (5cms)

As you can see, he's had a hard life. All battered. Sort of suits him though imo and he is welcome here.
    I adore him.
My daughter, her boyf and I had to give him a name on the basis that if it has a face it has a name so we called him Io.

    Thank you all.
Hope you get a kick out of him like I do xxx

It certainly looks like a piece of Shona sculpture.

I see that this is a recurring theme in Zimbabwe stone carving.

edit: and Shona narrows it down.

Thank you, Mark...I thought so from what I could see. I know it's not an exact science, but does resemble it.
Such a shame about the condition xx
