ISO: Frank King (1883 - 1969) and/or Gasoline Alley Experts

    LOL - Jivvy's atistic license is indeed pretty accurate. Yes, that is the how the face looks. There is also a hunk of paint (dirt?) that is there as well on her face which does not help matters.

    Maybe I will carefully try to open the back of the frame job and see if there are any additional clues.

    If you look at any Gasoline Alley comics, the faces are illustrated pretty similar to both the painting and Jivvy's rendering.

    We had not thought about the fashion sense, and what era it matched up with.

    If we are going to go with those as facial features, then I see four eyes and two mouths. Maybe this is really some type of Lovecraftian horror piece instead.

    Reminds me of that horrible "restoration" job. It was a painting of Jesus, right?
