ISO Identification of Hand Painted Tile Work

    I think some of these persian paintings are on ivory also. Not suggesting that is true of OP's (too big), but I have some persian miniatures that I think are on ivory.

    p.s. Whoops, just checked and mine are indian, not persian, so probably completely irrelevant.

    Good morning -

    9.75" x 3.75" is the approximate size of the bone.

    I have run my fingers along the edges of the frame. The outside of it feels "separate, rigid, and bumpy" and the facial side feels a smidgen smoother to me, but it still has minor separations between the pieces.

    Now ya'll have me confused a bit : )

    Thanks for the extra photos, MRD, that really helps.
    It still looks like real khatamkari to me. I can see individual pieces. It looks lacquered, so maybe that made it look like khatam style paper.
