I am guessing this will be an easy one but I am not finding a match when checking my italian marks. Cute little porcelain figurine but need help with the italian make/age.

Geez....substantially more than i paid. At least, the auctioneer didn't know the obvious mark either!

Sometimes things show up better in photos, esp. magnified.

Completed sales on ebay are far short of these lofty "ask" prices though......

Any thoughts on finding comparable pieces with respect to age and quality?

    Especially....when you are over 50!

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt, janet!

Yeah replacements.com in my experience is usually priced more like a high end retail shop rather than an online auction. What they have going for them is a good(mostly) reputation of knowledge/ expertise / quality and customer service - unlike Ebay where you are rolling the dice if you don't have previous experience with the seller.

You can see the quality in it, for sure. Good purchase and nice ID, Janetjohn.

If it is half of a pair (missing the mate) it may impact value a bit. I only look at "sold" for market value. This kind of thing (decorative figures in general) have fallen out of favor a bit, but still a desirable piece if no damage. I'm a sucker for these Italian pieces. Gorgeous subtle colors on this one in particular. I like it.

Couldn't agree more on defining market price, lucille! Afterall, we would never suggest the price to be based on what a few select people are willing to pay for it, given that no one is willing to sell for that price. It has to be based on the buyer and seller agreeing to the value.....but finding a credible history of comparables can often be a challenge
