  1. Haahhahaa...that's sort of what I thought about the powder residue inside the pretty little box. Milady needed a little jump start :)

The green box looks like an agate set pill box.
They could have had pins glued or soldered to the backs and worn as scatter pins. Scatter pins are several pins of the same type, worn on one side of a dress or jacket as if they were just scattered there.

  7. The back of the watch says Bulova (?) 10K solid filled V. del C. 1975 from W.R. Grace & Co.

What in the world is 10K solid filled?

Are there any resident watch experts that can mentor me? I have about 50-75 mostly ladies watches, from Swatch to Omega, that I need to do something with. I have a couple of books but they are way over my pay grade (not nearly enough pictures).

    Thanks!

The "lead" in a pencil is graphite, not not the metal lead. ;)

The little bees have a button-like shank on the back, but I suspect they were sewn on a dress to look like scatter pins as AJ mentioned. In the 1940s-50s it was fairly common for modestly-priced dresses to have rhinestone "jewelry" pieces of this type sewn on by the manufacturer.

We all mentor here...but all together , not one at a time...

    start your own new thread.....
post five or ten watches per photo...front and back....and we can start from there.

10 karat gold, has been used along with other metal to make the band and case...but not much of it!
The watch looks like a company gift for service rendered....

It could be lead. It might be a propelling pencil.
