    That the white part is hollow seals the deal for me that it is not stone. Stone, especially geodes and the like, can be hollow inside, but no one would hollow out stone for no discernable purpose especially when you say that the item is already 20 pounds. I think it is intended to look like polished jade. You might show us the bottom of the broken tooth in the upper jaw, but I think we are talking highly lacquered molded resin. I'm not an expert, though, just a rock lover.

    To sum up.....medium temperature, hollow body, unnatural gradations in color, saw marks on the feet, casting flaws apparent on questionable places = synthetic resin.
