Japanese Artist identification...theory of 3. (Ducks)

Hi, looking to help identify this artist - presumably Japanese. Cool ink drawing on paper using the theory of 3 ducks.....help...

 

A Tohie?

 

I didn't understand "theory of 3 ducks" and I don't understand "Tohie" either.

 

Neither do I.

The signature: A Tohie (it has no dot behind the A).

 

I was so busy puzzling over the usage of 'theory' that I totally missed the question was about the artist!

 

No, the letters are a combined Kanji and Katakana....not A Tohie

 

Theory of 3 is what I called the picture...so don't get confused....

Ah well, with Tohie being a Japanese name and with the look of the name, I thought it could work.

Looks like a tattoo or something on leather? to me

 

It clearly says "A doobie", which is what is needed to properly understand the theory of 3 ducks.

Looks and feels like rice paper

 

The medium looks like rice paper and ink...

 

So going back to the smokin' thing, I now think it says Cohiba

 

Taking a few steps back from it, I see a lion's face. Honest, no weed required.

 

Kind of looks like
土口片旧 or 土口什旧 to me in Chinese and neither are a correct match to your piece.
Still would prefer to see a photo of the complete item.
Perhaps a close up of the text too.
