    Hi Everybody

I dont know if this is the right forum to post it in.
This figurine is quite heavy. The black part could be metal or some sort of dense porcelain. The white could be plastic, or celluloid, I cannot make out. The base is wood (the only thing i know).

I have no idea where to go to do more research on this.

Think you might be in trouble. That looks like ivory to me.
Wait for the experts to arrive.
    Cheers

    She is a beauty.
It says Taisho/Showa, those are periods. Taisho is 1912-1926, Showa is 1926-1989.
They probably mean the turn of Taisho-Showa, so the 1920s, which would be my estimation too.

For the figure in the link it says: 'ivory head, feet, hands and umbrella, bronze body, affixed to a carved wood base.'

If she's in the UK or most of Europe you may be good to go. She's pre-WWII and so can be sold. In my part of the US, she's a family souvenir; Ivory can't be sold here without a pile of documentation that costs more than the average piece is worth.
