Featured Japanese lacquer box. Meiji?

    Reading about that. Like maybe Linseed oil or walnut oil?or a liquid wax product? Will do so more reading..

    I'd use mineral oil, barring advice to the contrary. Linseed does nasty things to finishes over time. Not sure of walnut oil. Olive oil is used in some places, but it can go rancid over time.
