Japanese Lacquer box with dragon. for jewelry or?

    What i know.
    It is made primarily of wood. looks to be carved?
    Measures approx 6" x 7" x 2". Actually more red than shows in the pics. i think it's called iron red?
    The dragon on top is making a statement with his best foot forward.
