Featured Japanese Wood Lacquer large, lidded bowl, Meiji?

    Hi all.
    My latest purchase is this 10" diameter wood lidded, three footed bowl
    I am assuming it was for serving rice?
    It looks to be pretty old, and I can't find anything like it.

    Beautiful bowl! I’m having a hard time getting any clues about age. My guess would be more mid century up to maybe 70s/80s rather than as old as Meiji era. Just a guess though.

    It looks newer and shiny now because I spent two hours cleaning it and polishing the lacquer. It was dull as dirt when I got it home.

    My Facebook group pretty much dates it the same
    So possibly 1940s 50s

    I can see that. It's definitely beauty over age on this one so the term Vintage works well for listing.
