That's a really neat pin, Johnny! Can't give any advice about polishing (or not.)

I'd say dont polish copper...its not dirty, just has nice patina.

    Really nice piece btw :)

Exactly. Not tarnished. It's acquired a patina as above. Removing it would be a mistake (if I may be so bold...)

Hi Johnny! I have earrings with this same image ... only mine have a bit of added enamel on her head-"thing" and the dangly bits suspended from that head-"thing". My earrings are unmarked but after searching, I found that they were made by Pididdly Links. Personally, I wouldn't polish your pin ... but I would try to brush off any gunk that may be in the crevices.

So contemporary, not antique? Pididdly Links was in business from 1969 - 1995.

Art Nouveau revival was huge in the 70's ...I made tons of it myself!

I know nothing, so I'm probably wrong - but Johnny's piece looks legit Art Nouveau period to me...

Also @johnnycb09 - is that a sig/makers mark at the very bottom of the front?

I did an internet image search for "Art Nouveau figural stick pin" and genuine period pins have quite a bit of relief. This one is rather flat and back doesn't look quite right. I wonder...

This one looks like a copy made from an original by lost wax process, casting bubbles on backside. Students copied many things as part of their classes.

I think it's beautiful and would have taken it for period art nouveau. Surprised that it isn't.
